There is a known bug with Apple mobile devices (iPhones, iPads, and iPod Touches) running iOS 6.1 and connecting to Microsoft Exchange calendars. This bug may cause the Apple device’s battery to drain in a shorter period of time due to excessive connectivity to the Exchange server.
To avoid these problems, we ask that all Towson University faculty and staff with Apple devices connecting to Towson email servers stop accepting, declining, or modifying calendar appointments from their mobile device. Viewing calendars from your mobile device is fine.
Apple indicates there will be an iOS patch for this coming, but has not provided a target date for this patch. The official Apple article can be found at: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4532 .
OTS will post a subsequent alert once the patch is available via Apple Software Update so that normal calendar operations may resume.
